Uploading images timing out

Attempting to upload twice a 774 KB .jpg during Create Post to community DRS Your GME.

Front end red popup:

SyntaxError: Unexpected token 'R', "Request er"... is not valid JSON

Payload response:

Request error: error sending request for url (http://pictrs:8080/image): operation timed out

  • Thanks so much for sharing this! I apologize there have been repeat issues with the image hosting on this Lemmy instance.

    Scaling has been an issue on the hosting solution we are currently using, and requires repeat attention due to continued archiving of not only posts/data/images made here but additional archiving originating from federated instances. Simply - there is bloat.

    Our main Development/ Operations person has been in vacation in Europe and just got back, and our team will be taking a look soon.

    If anyone reading has experience in devop or is curious about the structure and in either way would like to help out please send me a DM!
