The Conflict of Interest Act came into effect yesterday, and with it comes this new web portal. Per the site:
This website provides information on the obligations of Members and Ministers. It explains the meaning of "conflict of interest" and what a member must do if one arises. It explains the process for making complaints and investigating alleged breaches of the Act and contains reports on the results of those investigations.
Members are required to disclose most of their assets, liabilities and sources of income (subject to some exceptions), as well as gifts and private air travel.
Don't expect anything there for a while. Members cannot be sworn in until the election is certified, which is 14 days after voting day. Then members have 90 days to get everything in to the commissioner. With the massive change to what the members need to report, the first go is going to be painful for them to get it all in and right.
