MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said one big turnout by Oakland Athletics fans doesn't change "a decade worth of inaction" as he defended earlier comments about the "reverse boycott" held in protest of the team's proposed move to Las Vegas.

I genuinely don't understand why he says stuff like this so frequently. He can continue to back ownership without going so far to insult fans.
Surely their goal is for A's fans to follow the team to Vegas or switch to the Giants. How does this help?
