If this turns out to be exclusive, I'm pirating it in show of support for the PS community. Gamers shouldn't have to miss out because of BS corporate wars.
Yeah I’m a PC gamer who came from owning both base consoles (previous gen). I’m happy to buy Sony games, but waiting for ghost of Tsushima to be on PC sucks, of all their exclusives, it should have been at the top of the list to port.
If you hate the practice of exclusivity (or the version of it that Microsoft or Sony have these days), the more effective action would be not only to not buy it but also to not play it. When you play it, you can discuss it on forums, share word of mouth, and other things that encourage other people to buy it. When you don't play it, you're probably supporting some other game that needs the support more and abides by your values.
While I get where you’re coming from, corporate boards care far more about purchases over actual engagement. Not buying the game is definitely the better option here, though unfortunately I imagine I will only make the tiniest dent in the swathes of purchases they’ll get. Regardless, if it is an exclusive, that sucks since MS banked their Bethesda acquisition deal on saying “we’ll make Bethesda games available for all platforms still”
I'm talking more about actual consequences of what one does with their time and money rather than some metric that Microsoft is tracking. Pirating the game out of some sense of solidarity strikes me as not just ineffective but just a poor way to justify piracy when you know it's the wrong thing to do.
