Largely because tankies sat out the election, which they did because of Gaza, and because tankies don't really mind Trump anywhere near as much as they mind a status quo moderate like Kamala.
Tankies also have absolutely no qualms about throwing immigrants and LGBTQ people to the wolves, especially not if they think it means they get a better chance to mobilize protests, burn and trash shit, and overthrow the government and install a haphazard group of the most assertive communists to take the lead.
