The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists made the annual announcement citing threats that include climate change, proliferation of nuclear weapons and instability in the Middle East.
Oh, God, yes please. Let's just hit it. The earth is overdue for a hard reset. We fucked everything up, there is no chance of fixing it, so best to just wipe everything out and start over.
No. Humanity has survived every single "sure thing end of the world" shit before. We can do it again, so long as people don't give up and actually act.
Wanna give up, fine, I get it, shit is hard. But don't fucking tell it to people, negativity is infectious. We'll get through this if we have the courage to dare to do it.
Humans won't survive climate change. Some species in the homo line will, that will be partially based on us, but we're incompatible with a 600ppm CO2 and/or +4c world. A few of us might survive enough to force rapid evolution and speciation as we did in our past, but homo sapiens and smart homos in general are dead for at least 5 million years.
