You can take away her character and it wouldn't affect the movie one bit. Making her point out to Oppie the Bhagavad Gita was stupid anyway and Kitty/Emily Blunt was a member of a communist party and that's enough justification for the red-tagging plot that would be integral later.
Heck, if it didn't have Florence Pugh, it could have easily been PG-13.
She's one of the few characters in the film that I was able to easily recall when she shows up (and not because of her nudity). I am just confused as to what her place in the overall message of the movie is about.
The part where she has Oppie read the Bhagavad Gita must have been allegorical/figurative, but I just don't know to what end. It's weird, it's striking, but it leaves me wondering: WTF?
