How many times in our history are Americans going to get duped into hating people they never even interact with and know nothing about?
None of these people know trans people. These morons have just been conditioned to hate them regardless of not even knowing them. It's pathetic. They've never been hurt, or even inconvenienced by a trans person. Bigot fucks.
Pfft, that shits been contracted out for years (honestly understandable, hard to have consistent network defense with a constantly rotating (deploying) workforce of active duty military)
Lots of IT still in the military also some of the "contract out" is done by reservist and is tied to their military contract. Those still in military are your tier 3 IT and admin.
The ideological score here must be worth more to Trump than the strength of America's military, already hurting for new recruits, which says a lot and frankly scares the fuck out of me
Well, the problem is you're thinking logically. It's an ideological victory on both ends for him.
Conservatives view this as strengthening the military, not weakening it.
The actual strength of America's Military doesn't matter because they don't have hostile nations on their borders. So when America's Military loses some of their force projection ability it can be used to say we're turning towards isolationist policy, which is also a win for him. (From the Putin angle and from the Conservative one)
And, again, if you point out that this move will weaken the American Military, well what are you? A terrorist who doesn't believe they have the greatest, manliest fighting force ever seen?
You joke but that's why they want to fuck up the military. PMCs lobby too and they're willing to do everything in a war from flying the planes to being grunts on the line.
Cool unsourced/debunked fabrication from a literal tabloid, took me all of two minutes to find this, after looking for an actual source, when the OP-linked article didn't have one:
Well I hope you're right. After reading your comment I went to check sources for this story on Ground News. The original source sense to be a paywalled article in The Times which I can't read. There are many other sources but they're not what you'd call top tier, and they may all be feeding off each other (see screenshot below). So yes, there seems to be hope that this is false.
Oh well newsweek says that the biggest pack of liars the world has ever seen says they won't do it. Nothing to worry about folks!
Trump's transition team denied that any decisions on the issue had been made. Spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told Newsweek that the unnamed sources "are speculating and have no idea what they are actually talking about."
"No decisions on this issue have been made. No policy should ever be deemed official unless it comes directly from President Trump or his authorized spokespeople," she said.
Confirmation bias is a hell of a drug. For shame.
Is it confirmation bias when I know Trump and his team are gigantic liars so I'm not quite going to rule out this very-on-brand policy that they are pre-denying until he's in office and it doesn't happen?
MTG believes they are going to do it according to the same article, but I acknowledge she's got the brainpower of a squirrel, so I'm not putting much stock in that.
I assume that's the plan with RFK's "wellness camps". Define gender dysphoria as a qualifying mental illness, and send transgender folks there to replace migrant workers who have been deported.
Transgender people are significantly more likely to serve in the US military than the general US population.[178][179] According to 2014 estimates from the Williams Institute on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Law and Public Policy, despite the ban on military service, about 21.4% of the total transgender population in the US is estimated to have served in the military. In May 2014, an estimated 15,500 transgender individuals served on active duty or in the Guard or Reserve forces.[22] Wikipedia
So it’s a real number he just thinks military=army like the fake loser he is.
You think with the recruiting problems we have you'd do your best to retain the people we have.
If you can get through basic and fulfill your tasks you should be able to be in the military. If the government doesn't want to pay for "gender affirming care" that's fine. But these people should still be allowed in the military.
Also, what kind of discharge are these people getting?
Honorable, General, Dishonorable?
An easy to get general discharge from the military? I think lots of people with years left to serve are going to enjoy leaving early with all of their benefits.
Yeah. He also wants to prevent using military healthcare for transgender care. So even if they could get VA benefits it wouldn’t help where trans people need it most.
I have to hope their contractually obligated to provide them. If not I'd look forward to the class action suite but then again the judges are openly corrupt. America is a clusterf*ck right now.
That's a lot of hard to replace talent. I don't think anyone I'm the military will let him go through with this. How anyone can support this mong is beyond me.
Not something anyone can stop if he chooses to go through with it. He is the commander of the armed forces. He can make sweeping policies like this that fuck up everything.
He's already working on purging military leadership so only Trump loyalists are left. If he orders a purge of trans people it will happen. Everyone saying "he can't really do this" is still in living in hopeful dreams. Reality is that Trump will be in charge and surrounded by fanatical loyalists running all branches of government and the military. The dangers for his chosen scapegoats are real.
It'll happen. Three minutes later, they'll discover what a bad idea it is to kick people out of the army in the middle of a recruiting shortage. Nothing will be learned and they'll skip along to the next bad idea.
