I'd like to use this app and looks fine.
Concerns are:
- Is this app still open source ?
- How to verify any backdoor / sending my data to a remote location.
I think the app is good and gonna purchase it, but I need to confirm the above.

Have you tried the app yet? If so, what are you missing in relation to your previous app? There would still be Oinkoin. But i think that's not what you're looking for.
Yes. It works with sandboxed play services. I was doing that for a while in the work profile. Running all that is just to much for my Pixel 4A 5G.
Besides the look/layout, I liked how it kept track of credit card statement dates.
There is the FinTS option, which I think only works in Germany. Accordingly, unfortunately I can't help you. :( I hope someone else can help you and you will find what you are looking for.
