SILO TV discussion and is the book series worth it?
Hi!
I was wondering if any of you all have seen the SILO apple tv series and what you all thought about it. I'm a bit late to the party, but thought it was a fun, mystery, sci-fi show with a cool premise.
"In a ruined and toxic future, a community exists in a giant underground silo that plunges hundreds of stories deep; there, people live in a society full of regulations they believe are meant to protect them."
As well, has anyone read the book series? Does it have a satisfying ending? I'm interested to check it out, but don't want to spoil myself. I'm debating just following along as a fun, intriguing, tv series rather than investing into the books.
I enjoyed it. I could've done without Tim Robbins--I don't know why, but he kind of irritates me, and not in the "love to hate him" way. I liked the mayor/deputy sheriff angle, though I wish they'd let it run a little more. Juliette/the actress who plays her did a good job and grew on me as the show went.
hard agree on Juliette, I initially thought her character pretty weak, but the last three episodes, especially with the interactions with her dad and flashbacks really ironed out her character. I really felt for the dad, and thought Ian Glen crushed his role.
Tim Robbins character had so much potential, he could have been way more sinister. I wish he harnessed some of the energy like Sir Anthony Hopkins character in Westworld, but I guess everyone can't be that good!
