Hello everyone, why the mods are removing genuine posts? I know they break some rules you have.
TBH there are too many rules, and this is very early stages of lemmy so don't be so strict. You guys are doing a too good job in my opinion.
Honestly, I’m okay with them banning people for being negative, there are SO many places you can go to do that if you want to, especially with all the servers here on Lemmy.
I've looked into it and can confirm /u/JshKlsn was temporarily banned for rude comments directed at others on /r/android. For the record, the mod who actioned it does not use Samsung devices.
It would be great if you could not talk behind my back with other users, but also your investigation means nothing, because who said that username was mine on Reddit, or that I am talking about that account?
Hey there, if you would like to pass me your username on Reddit I'd be happy to take a look for you. We have folks who very much dislike Samsung so that shouldn't have been an issue - and if it was, it was an oversight.
Strange. I only received a notification for this reply when you edited it just now. Not sure if it's due to the recent lemmy.world outage. I'm on my way to the office at the moment but will definitely take a look this afternoon.
Edit: I've taken a look. It appears you were banned for spam.
You commented "Thank, I will definitely think about it in the future" as the first response to a spam bot post advertising third-party MagSafe accessories. This was your first comment on /r/Android.
Your follow-up message to modmail followed the same format as typical spam accounts and was archived.
13 days ago, you randomly sent a mod mail, "fuck you", which triggered automatic Reddit filtering.
I didn't say it was for "having an opinion about Samsung" (it was another user), but to be honest, banning me because they believe I was a bot? Come-on, they could just look at my profile and see all my comments to discover that I was an actual human.
I guess I was at wrong place and time, and got banned.
Hi there, I hope you were able to catch some of the other comments but memes are captured under rule #3:
Describe images/videos: Please provide an explanation in the self-post body when sharing images or videos. Memes are not allowed.
Sorry for the late reply, I was away for much of the weekend until yesterday and thought we had gotten a reply out to you. Based on this discussion, we created [email protected] as a compromise between folks who want memes and those who do not. We've been aiming to find a balance between being more lenient during this period while also remaining responsive to user reports, which we did receive for yours.
You can typically find an explanation of the removal reasons in the modlog (when accessed from the community sidebar). Unfortunately, Lemmy doesn't seem to be handling user notifications too well but hopefully this improves in the near future.
Edit: Apologies for the multiple posts. App went haywire on me... Lemmy growing pains!
I feel bad for you. Deleting a post which has already has a around 250 points, and around 60 comments SMH. Either delete them early or write a comment warning.
My points keep getting reset every couple of days, so I don't care too much about that. I think I was making a valid point though. Obviously people were pretty engaged with it.
Cool thing about lemmy is if these mods want to be jerks, I'll just go to another android community on another instance.
Thanks for this feedback! Based on this discussion, we've created [email protected] as a compromise between folks who want memes and those who do not. Hope that helps! We've definitely been aiming to be a bit more lenient as things take shape while trying to also be responsive to user reporting.
Always happy to check in again for a pulse check. Hopefully Lemmy can implement a better way to let directly notify folks when a post is removed, but in the meantime everyone can access the modlog from the community sidebar. Please let me know if not!
