Poshmark Frequently Asked Questions:
A buyer is asking me to send them a message via text, phone, WhatsApp, etc. Is this a scam?
Typically. In a few (rare) cases the buyer is just clueless. However, in most cases it is a scam. It works like this: you message the buyer through text or email and they agree to pay on Paypal, Venmo, or another payment platform. Then you ship the item. Little do you know, the payment method they used was stolen. The original owner of the payment method opens up a case and gets their money back. The scammer gets to keep the item. You get nothing.

I shipped an item through Paypal, Venmo, etc and a case was opened or the payment was reversed. How do I get my funds?
That’s a hard lesson to learn. Hopefully, it wasn’t an expensive item. You took the transaction off of Poshmark so Poshmark’s seller protection doesn't come into play. You can try opening a case with the platform the payment was made with (Paypal, Venmo, etc), but chances are you are out of luck.

Help! My account was used to make a purchase I didn’t authorize!
If it’s been less than 3 hours, you can manually cancel the order from the Order Details page. Then change your password (and the passwords of all accounts you use that password on), contact Poshmark, and contact your payment processor (bank, credit card, Paypal).
If it’s been more than 3 hours, you need to reach out to the seller and let them know what happened. You also need to change your password, contact Poshmark via email and your payment processor (bank, credit card, Paypal).
I’ve emailed (repeatedly) Poshmark support and they haven’t gotten back to me.
You need to stop emailing. Your first email was put in a queue. Your second (third, fourth, fifth, etc) emails got you pushed back to the bottom of the queue. Take a deep breath. It takes days, sometimes weeks, for them to reply. If you keep emailing, they will NEVER reply. Stop emailing.
The buyer’s username is weird or the purchase username doesn’t match the shipping label username.
Guest accounts (or accounts from Google Shopping) look weird. There’s nothing wrong with a little weirdness. It may take the full 3 days for payment to be released on this sale.
If the username on the label doesn’t match the username that purchased the item, that’s normal. That means your guest (or Google Shopping) buyer created an account.
It’s been 3 days and payment hasn't been released!
There is a known glitch where payment isn’t released after 3 days. You’ll have to contact Poshmark support.
Alternatively, your buyer has opened up a case and Poshmark is in the middle of reviewing the case. There is no way of telling when this happens. Payment just doesn’t get released.
It’s been more than 3 days and the buyer opened a case!
Buyers have 3 days to contact Poshmark about a problem. The transaction is suspended when they do this. There is no indication (currently) that the transaction was suspended or that Poshmark is reviewing. It is possible that the buyer opened up a case on Day 1 and on Day 7 you are finally notified.
How do I get a shipping label?
Click on your username, the look under your My Sales tab then click on the item and scroll down until you see "Download Label" or you can check your emails for a label.
I received an email from Poshmark saying I sold an item, but I don't see the transaction on the app/website.
This is a phishing scam! The scammers send emails hoping you will click on a link in the email. If you do, you will be promoted to login on a legit-looking website. When you input your username or password you won't be sending it to Poshmark, but instead to the scammer.
How to spot a phishing attempt: The email address may end in a form that Poshmark doesn't use, such as @poshmark123.com. The logos may look off. It may contain spelling or grammar errors. The information doesn't correspond to your account.
If you want to report a phishing attempt, forward the email to [email protected]
If you have engaged with a phishing attempt (replying to the email, clicking a link, etc) contact [email protected].
