What are your must-haves for bases?

I'm just curious what things are must-haves for you in a base.

Could be an item, or a certain layout that makes something easy.

Is there something you do or get as fast as humanly possible in a new game?

Storage is always a priority for my mobile base. Especially those cargo carriers. I like to horde.
- Do you start with a build that's able to pop those in? I tend to have to build up skills and get the right tools before I'm able to install them. (Although sometimes I get lucky and find an intact vehicle with a bunch of them right away.)
  
  I usually remove them and add them to a vehicle of choice. I think you need mechanics 3.
