Always-on Gyro vs. Gyro Toggle vs. Gyro on Button Hold: which is your favorite and why?
Personally, my favorite is the gyro on button hold, bound to the aiming button, as Breath of the Wild originally did. I'm personally peeved about the always-on implementation on Splatoon though, because any slight tremor in your hand means your aim will suffer. (At least they had the decency of adding a dedicated recenter button.) And how do you go three games in a row not allowing the players to correct the vertical aim with the stick? What in the world is the rationale for that?
Gyro on touch for me. Not every controller has that but it works across Steam Controller, Deck, and perhaps most controversially PS controllers.
Designers seem to think players will be overwhelmed with full camera control through two methods at the same time. They might be right when it comes to new players, all I know is it annoys the hell out of experienced ones. Splatoon at least has a horizon reset button to help deal with it, do the others?
