After being left broken for about a week, Crytek have now fixed up their Easy Anti-Cheat for Hunt: Showdown to work on Steam Deck / Linux again.

Why would it?
This is the first time it’s happened in 9 months since it was enabled
Pretty sure the one and only guy on dev team will forget to update stuff for Linux Proton, just like it happened with Apex Legends. I'm sure that after a couple of times they will set a reminder or something, and then everything will go smoothly.
Take your pessimism elsewhere. I have faith in the Hunt devs
so be it.
