You obviously didn't get the memo that you are supposed to only work in a text shell.
I tried nano, but none of the standard key combination would let me save or quit.
you can always edit /etc/nanorc if you don't like the stock keyboard shortcuts

That's why it's so nice that nano helpfully displays the keyboard shortcuts on the screen.
No indeed they wouldn't, but it's still not as bad as vim.
