I'm sure this will do much to counter the idea that Okies are uneducated bumpkins living on dirt farms.

We're not. And also don't care what others think. The public education system is broken and no amount of money will fix it
Blindly throwing money at it won't fix it. Intelligent changes and an adequate budget will.
Yeah. I have no hope for it. We could start by dismantling the department of education.
Typically you want to have a replacement in place before you dismantle critical infrastructure.
It was created in 1979. Since then education has gone down. Why replace it
