White House calls Marjorie Taylor Greene talk of Biden impeachment a ‘partisan stunt’
White House spokesperson Ian Sams forcefully pushed back on Greene saying millions of dollars had already been wasted on the "wild goose chase."
During a town hall Thursday night to her constituents, Greene said she would not vote on necessary budget bills unless impeachment proceedings begin for President Joe Biden.
Failing to fund the government would lead to a government shutdown when the fiscal year ends Sept. 30, which could result in furloughed workers, closed agencies and place many essential programs in peril.
The White House on Thursday asked Congress to pass a short-term continuing resolution to fund the government while budget negotiations continue.
