Woot! was looking through lemmy communities (that's the correct phrasing, right?) and found this place too.
How do you look through the communities? I've just joined!
So i'm on mobile, and I have a search button. I also have a notifications area, which I clearly hadn't checked in a while. Sorry! I use the Thunder app.
