Haven't seen the video yet, but I'm generally more willing to support GN on issues like this. They've usually shown that they take journalism very seriously.
EDIT: Just watched the full video. God damn, Tech Jesus has LTT dead to rights.
It makes you wonder if that multi-million dollar buyout Linus claims (that he turned down) is indeed true. Or maybe because if I was in his position I'd take it and run, lol.
Edit: Will watch the whole debacle later. Mukhang juicy. Gayahin nyo kasi si Hardware Canucks, inot inot lang upload.
Edit 2: Started with the Billet Labs vid first. Damn, wtf. LMG done fucked up.
Knowing LMG's insane content window, I'm guessing we'll see a video response to this in... 24 hours?
I'm not sure there's an answer Linus could give that absolves them (not like I'm expecting him to do that anyway considering he's been doubling down repeatedly), but I'm tuning in anyway.
Nagrespond na sila sa forums nila (basically sums up to "it's not our fault and you should feel bad for not following journalism standards"), di ko lang alam if pipilitin nila gumawa ng video tungkol dito. If they just repeat their points sa video, it'll just look bad.
Tbh, it's sad that Linus' benchmarks tend to make glowing reviews of products that are affiliated with his company now. I used to love how he'd call a spade a spade regardless if they were sponsors such as dBrand.
That's precisely why I also avoid youtubers like Austin Evans, TechBroll, Unbox Therapy (tbf unboxing daw sya), and the likes, who all make apologies for the product simply because they don't want to lose free swag to review.
I'd likely still watch LMG despite the drama. His funny staff more than makes up for Linus' smugness. Siguro ilalagay ko na lang siya sa same list as the asshole owner of Gear Seekers, lol.
