Jonathan Nolan is Christopher Nolan's nephew and they share an uncle in John Nolan.

Ah then that's why John is an uncle to both of them. I must have misremembered.
I always remember because Jonathan has an American accent and Christopher has a British one which I always found super interesting for some reason, due to where they were each primarily raised/attended school
