  • As a non vegan person, this looks delicious. I’d throw some extra umami items in there. Probably some marmite (yeast) or dried mushrooms.

    • nice! i'll have to try that. i do love dried mushrooms! i know marmite is popular in the UK but i don't think i've actually tried it. what does it taste like?

      • Marmite is incredibly polarizing. As the popular series of ads say, you either love it or hate it. It's incredibly bitter and sour. I love it, personally, but my gf is absolutely revolted :)

        • ive heard it's excellent in vegan cooking though! i absolutely hate apple cider vinegar on its own and can't stand the smell but i can't deny that it does some magic in cooking. i wonder if marmite is the same way?

          • I've tried various pastries and stews (especially before I went vegetarian) that use marmite. It's got a very specific flavor, and a lot of people use it in all sorts of ways.
