Keep getting error 404 when opening a remote lemmy community
I'm trying to subscribe to this lemmy community: https://lemmy.nix-community.org/c/nix
But when I try to open on kbin (https://kbin.social/m/[email protected]) I get error 404. Why? Are there any fixes/workarounds?

Chances are it hasn't been federated by the instance yet. You can force it by using the search feature and searching

@[email protected]it should federate. It won't load old posts but anything new should show up.Edit: this usually will work, but not in this case. I checked out the website itself and sorting by all communities rather than local only shows local posts, so maybe they completely disabled federation
I'm not sure I understand how to force it. The following doesn't work:
- Click on the magnifying glass in the top right side
- Write
@nixin the search field
- This doesn't seem to find any magazines, just posts and threads
- Re-try opening the magazine
- Still 404
