What do you think would happen if Reddit was purchased by Meta/Zuckerberg ?

users would be forced to connect their real names and identities to their anonymous accounts and all of your friends and relatives and coworkers would srr what you've been up to and then poof its a ghost town and zuck happily wipes out a competitor which was already suicidal.

so not much different.
