It seems you can see only the comment you reply to. But that sounds as a good feature that is possible to implement, may be you can leave a feature request on GitHub.
Thanks, not been on GitHub before, would I leave the comment on the Lemmy page or the Jerboa one?
On the first toolbar shown, where you can mark as read, start replying, etc., there is a "insert link" icon. It'll take you to the context.
