This is democracy in action. Voting happened, MPs were elected, and a government was formed. Did the Premier need to put 'secrets' in the Mandate letters? No. Did he? Yes. Because you and I don't have the right to see those secrets, we don't get to see those letters. If this, and a lot of other good reasons not to vote CPC, end up changing the votes so another party forms the government, maybe the government then won't have secret mandate letters.
A majoriry with 34% of votes means pure democracy....
70% of Canadians not voting because all the parties suck and we get stuck with ford because 40% of the 30% the population that did vote for that shithead...
Voting needs to be manditory/enforced (see Australia) to get democracy also there needs to be a none of the above on a ballot to show how many are displeased with the shitshow system we have.
I hate mandatory voting. It should remain a civic duty. Not something that is enforced.
Instead have voting matter and educate people on it. Look at Hungary as an example. As shitty as their king might be currently, and they've voted him in four times already, the country has a consistent near 70% voter turn out, because people just know that not voting means you do not have the right to complain about the government or be angry about their policies when things don't go their way.
