Scooby-Doo would a word with you...he just enjoyed some things in the past that are now legal in most U.S. states. That doesn't make him, or his relatives "disgusting"!
Been around these disgusting things enough, they smell, always drooling all over the place. Taking massive horse sized shits. Nasty dogs. Not for me.
Humans stink, drool, and take horse sized shits, too. Great Danes are more loyal and friendly, though. I mean I understand not wanting to home one, but hating them for existing seems weird.
