One thing I disliked about reddit is how controversial topics tend to get highly upvoted knee-jerk reactions. They're often low effort and tend to get traction by virtue of being one of early replies to the topic.
It's not as bad here, but that's probably because of fewer users compared to the other site.
Yep, seems to be a reaction to a post from a person that's now banned. I read through the thread where the block was announced and it kinda makes sense for me now since delikado nga.
I actually follow the piracy community, so it would have been a loss for me if my account was on .world, I would personally prefer an instance that is federated with most others or else there would only be a circlejerk of the same echo chambers in my feed. It's still good to have those dissenting opinions and various resources on hand. That being said, the beauty of having numerous instances is that you can just hop on another one if too many other instances or communities in your particular instance get blocked/defederated.
