The Challenger astronauts were still alive when the cabin of the orbiter hit the ocean. That is well known, and was hidden from the public at the time, I was alive and watched it happen live on TV. If you knew even basic physics, you could easily calculate the speed at which they hit the water, and the force that would have been exerted on their bodies.
