That's because the majority of vegans act like self righteous assholes towards non vegans. I have no problem with your diet choice but don't try shaming me for mine, it makes you look like a dick and does not help your cause at all.
The majority of carnivores act like self righteous assholes towards non carnivores. I have no problem with your diet choice but don't try shaming me for mine, it makes you look like a dick and does not help your cause at all.
Being an omnivore isn't a "cause" in the same way veganism is, and you know it. Most people are omniverous--there is no "cause" to be had. Vegans make up less than 4% of people. On average, a little less than people who follow a "keto" diet.
I know very few, if any, carnivores though, so maybe you're referring to a specific group of people with which I am unfamiliar. Or maybe you were just using self-righteous hyperbole for rhetorical effect in the name of your "cause." Wouldn't that be ironic?
I got it from polling cited on animalfoundation.org, which puts the number of vegans at around 1.1%. I rounded up because I was trying to be generous. Other polls put the number under .5% in the United States, but I was trying to give you some supportive numbers--otherwise it would actually be more like "there are 8x more people doing Keto than practicing veganism in the United States," and I didn't want to demoralize you and your "not a cause" cause.
We're all enjoying plenty of carcinogens, yourself included, I assure you.
I'm not putting any effort into that at all. Again. Being an omnivore is not a "cause" and doesn't require any effort to feel fine about it given it's the default dietary choice of the vast majority of all humans on the planet.
I am however putting (minimal) effort into making fun of you for literally doing what the original commenter--who wasn't me, incidentally--said vegans do.
And now you appear to have reached the inevitable, defensive conclusion: "OMG Y U TRY HARD FUK U." So edgy.
The majority of vegans aren't self righteous assholes. We couldn't give a shit about what you eat. What we are against, is the exploitation, rape, torture, and murder of animals for entertainment.
If you can grow meat in a lab without resorting to the coercion of individuals less privileged than you, that's great and we have no problem with that.
It’s someone not eating properly. The fact that they didn’t eat animal products is irrelevant. People get Ill and die while eating a shit non vegan diet too.
Let's say that the recommended daily intake of proteins for average Joe is about 56g and that kidney beans holds 8.6g protein per 100g...
660g of beans per day is a lot of beans. A LOT.
If Joe ever gets tired of beans he can always with over to 500g wholegrain buckwheat per day.
Regarding if the woman was a vegan or not..
WikipediaVeganism is the practice of abstaining from the use of animal product — particular in diet — and an associated philosophy that rejects the commodity status of animals. An individual that follows the diet or philosophy is known as a vegan.
She didn't eat any animal product so that pretty much confirms that she was a vegan.
However, she being a vegan doesn't mean that she was a healthy vegan or smart vegan.
Veganism isn't necessarily an unhealthy diet. Like any diet, it CAN be (though I would argue that on average it is easier to eat healthfully on a vegan diet).
Regardless, this woman clearly had an eating disorder. What sort of diet she consumed matters far, far less than the disorder eating itself.
That is what I said. It's easier to eat healthfully if you're vegan, I assume. But, you could be a vegan and eating peanut oil fries heavy on the salt all day every day too. That just seems unlikely lol
