The main character of my Beat'em up is ready to brawl! ... OK first he need some cool animations.
I stomped across this Lemmy community in r/Godot so I thought I give it a try and show you the project I'm currently working on. Still try to figure this Lemmy stuff out. I already noticed I can see post from this with my mastodon account but not sure if I can fully use an account from an mastodon instance on Lemmy.

I think it is obvious that the inspiration for this was Streets of Rage but do you know some good but unknown Beat em Up I should look into for reference?
@Feyter@russmatney It's definitely not unknown but if you havent played it I would recommend playing the 1st Golden Axe or try to watch some high-level play.
There's a couple things it does (very well) that IDK if other games have mimicked or perfected.
You can "lock" enemies with the right timing.
You can dash into high jump into drop strike for massive damage
The use of high and low ground to your advantage.
