They're in addition to and a part of the season pass mechanic which means you get the worst of both systems?!
They are apparently also in weeklies and other events.
Unrelated, I come from Valorant and am genuinely shocked how much free stuff people get in other games.
The fact that it's not even daily is going to kill any pull this has with me. It needs to be linked to progression level, like it used to be
