On the full size one, there are red dots periodically, is that every 100 steps?

I'm not sure tbh. I think it's some bug. I may be pushing the graphics lib too hard.
Are you screen recording your output? Not generating the video directly?
Yes, though it's not an artifact of recording, I can also see the gaps outside the recording
