The Scheming Lord of Coldharbour 🧛♂️ Molag Bal Statue Concept Art by Blue Crescento
Molag Bal is infamous for inflicting mortal suffering, a penchant that has cemented his place as a Bad Daedra in the Dunmeri House of Troubles. As the Lord of Domination and Brutality, Molag Bal’s ultimate goal is to enslave all mortals and to harvest their souls in his realm of Coldharbour. If this ambitious vision for the future sounds all fine and dandy to you, have no fear: there are several statues dedicated to him scattered throughout Morrowind for your convenience.

RIP space guars, we hardly knew ye.
Thanks for playing along with our April Fool's Day prank. We are, in fact, not pivoting to the Starfield engine.
We are, however, back on the very latest version of the Skyrim engine, thanks to some gruelling work by our Coding team, and of the Creation Kit, thanks in part to the CKPE team 💌
Now back to your regularly scheduled project updates. There's also more of the Concept-to-Asset video series on the horizon, and a bigger progress video is being worked on as we speak. Onwards and upwards! 🚀

After years of pouring love and dedication to recreating Morrowind in Skyrim's engine, we're reaching for the moon: say hello to Skywind!
After years of pouring love and dedication to recreating Morrowind in Skyrim's engine, we're reaching for the moon: we're shifting to Starfield's engine.
Say hello to Starwind! 🚀
- Why walk when you can fly? Rocket boosted guars!
- That's no moon(s)! Assemble your own interstellar silt strider.
- The space race, now with 100% more cliff racers
Tamriel's vibrant and variant landscapes have been our home for years, a realm where our passion could roam as free as the nix hounds of Vvardenfell. But as we looked up at the stars above, we saw the potential for magic far beyond what Skyrim's engine could offer. Starfield's cutting-edge tech and vast cosmic canvas present us with the opportunity to reimagine Morrowind like never before.
We're grateful for your support, and we look forward to continuing on this journey with you, to the cosmos and beyond.
The Starwind Team ✨

When your enemies lie broken before you, know that I will be watching🦇 Mace of Molag Bal, by Mykola Pavlovets
The Mace of Molag Bal is among the most formidable of Daedric artifacts, granting its bearer the power to feed off the victims' energies like the vampiric Lord of its namesake. Luckily for any agent of destruction bent on wreaking havoc, Molag Bal is said to be quite eager to bequeath his mace to any mortal deemed worthy…

Who said comfort couldn’t be stylish? Serve these looks as seen at Vivec Fashion Week, designed by DalSifoDyas and modelled in 3D by Andrey Harchenko
The Common Western Kaftan comes in a variety of colors and is embellished with delicate scrollwork along the robes' facing. Dal and Andrey have done a fantastic job refreshing the look of Morrowind’s robes.

Careful! Here be cliff racers! Azura’s Coast level design, by Dominik Włodarczyk
Overseer (Dominik) has been hard at work building more of Vvardenfell's east coast: “Leaving the Ascadian Isles behind, and after showcasing what lies beneath the waves of Azura's Coast, it's time to now show some finalised bits of that region on the surface! You can also play a game of Where's Waldo with these screenshots, as there are cliff racers hidden on both of them.”

A vestige of prestige: the Dwemer ruin of Nchuleft, by Dominik Włodarczyk
This ancient Dwemer freehold straddles the border of the Grazelands and the Ashlands, and served historically as an important neutral ground for diplomatic talks. Its remaining inhabitants are not so eager for polite conversation.

We’ve taken a deep dive into game asset creation with the first Skywind Concept-to-Asset episode! This time, we’re looking at the Iron Armor.

CONFESSION TIME: we have an ulterior motive with this new series. It's not very evil, though. We love showing off what we've made, the attention we pay to detail, and our determination to make Skywind really goddamn good, BUT...
WE NEED 3D CLOTHING ARTISTS. It's a major bottleneck for us at the moment, and has been for some time. If you've got experience in modelling 3D clothing and soft materials, or if you know someone else who fits the bill, we'd be really keen to hear from them. Tell everyone you know 💚

- imgur.com As the spirits of the dead grow restless and prepare to roam this world, we're whisking you away to the Dunmer strongholds of Vvardenfell, where ancient stone carvings by Fury_on haunt the halls.
Discover the magic of the internet at Imgur, a community powered entertainment destination. Lift your spirits with funny jokes, trending memes, entertaining gifs, inspiring stories, viral videos, and so much more from users like noegrets.
These bas reliefs, by the spookily talented Fury_on, will be used to decorate Dunmer strongholds. The ancient Chimer were different from the Dunmer we know in 3E427, and we've tried to give these bas reliefs an esoteric and ancient vibe, yet still reminiscent of contemporary Temple art styles.
One bas relief shows an ancestor spirit rising from the grave and blessing supplicants who seek to learn from their predecessors.
The other bas relief gives an insight into the ancient Chimer, showing a dual perspective of a first-Era Nede warrior: one aspect of it conveys the Nedes as a grave danger, a demonic creature that burns villages and strongholds, while the other aspect is that of a fallen enemy, conveying that this monster can still be slain by brave Chimer.
These bas reliefs were drawn in 2D, but we plan to translate them to 3D for enhanced visuals.

With great sadness, we learned today of the passing of MacedonianMuse - a Skywind contributor, an artist, a modder, a mother, a friend.
Our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and all those whose lives were brightened by her presence. May her roads lead to warm sands.
Description: Artwork by MacedonianMuse of a Dunmer woman studying a book in Dunmeris at a desk. A plait runs across her shoulder and her face bears tattoos. A moon-and-star stele sits on a bookshelf laden with books, and through an open window, emperor parasol mushrooms bloom.

Need a Halloween costume idea? Imperial Dragonscale armor concept, by Vitaly Muzyka.
This rare armor set guarantees you’ll only face lunatics in battle, since no one in their right mind would fight someone decked out in the skin of an actual dragon.
See more details on Vitaly’s ArtStation: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/xDN9rr
Description: Conceptual drawings of Dragonscale armor, showing front and back views and insets of pauldrons, bracers, greaves, and boots. The green-brown armor bears large scales joined to leather, with bone detailing. The style is reminiscent of Roman or early Medieval armor, with pteruges protecting the groin and leather straps holding the vambraces, boots, and belt in place.

Dressed to impress: Imperial Dragonscale helmet concept, by Vitaly Muzyka
You’ll feel safe and secure in this rare Dragonscale helmet. After all, it’s virtually impossible to stove a Dovah dome, huh?
See more details on Vitaly’s ArtStation: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/xDN9rr
Description: Various views of an intricately-worked helmet, reminiscent of a Late Roman ridge helmet or a late Medieval lobster-tailed pot helmet. It has angular cheekpieces and a prominent ridge styled like the head and neck of a dragon. Imperial diamond patterns adorn the brow, and the neck guard is a sheet of brown-gold dragonscale.

Wait, where am I going again? Telvanni Canton Waistworks by UCM
Vivec is one of the most memorable cities in Morrowind’s vibrant world, for better or for worse. Many a player has spent hours searching Vivec’s cantons during missions, only to get lost in their confusingly similar passageways. For that reason, Skywind’s team has given each space its own unique, lived-in feel. In the case of the Telvanni, their canton features the Great House’s characteristic mushroom decor and blue lighting.

We have you in our discerning eye… we see you, waking and sleeping: Sixth House hideout, by DaddySmurf2
In Skywind’s main questline, you’ll spend a lot of time hanging around in the Sixth House’s terrifying underground lairs. As such, Skywind’s talented team has worked tirelessly to bring these iconic locations to life. We just hope that they’re sufficiently creepy for you!

All of these flavors, and you chose to basalt-y. Azura's Coast level design, by Dominik Włodarczyk
Where the ashen foyadas of Molag Amur and the rolling hills of the Grazelands meet the sea, the stunning landscape of Azura's Coast is lined with rocky shores, grand basalt columns, and a host of volcanic islands. But this region is far from a day at the beach: from Tel Mora in the north to Tel Branora in the south, those who travel along these eastern shores will see the twisted and towering emperor parasols in which the enigmatic Telvanni wizards build their strongholds. And nestled between the region's rocky crevices are cave systems and ancient Velothi towers where outlaws, necromancers, and a host of otherworldly creatures lie in wait.

See you later, alligator 👋 Daedroth model by Jon Foster
With their powerful bite and swinging claws, Daedroths are fearsome servants of the Daedric Prince Molag Bal. As one of the “Bad Daedra” in the Dunmeri House of Troubles, Molag Bal is considered a cruel and dangerous force by the people of Morrowind. In Skywind, you’ll encounter several of these creatures as they carry out his bidding and tell them “after a while, crocodile!” by bashing in their beautifully modeled heads with an enchanted battleaxe.
To see more details of Jon’s incredible work on this model, check out his ArtStation: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/qeNxaD
Some of you may remember that we already had a Daedroth model that deviated more substantially from the Morrowind design. We certainly won’t waste it; we’ve got plans to use the existing model elsewhere in a more unique way.

It's called fashion, baby! Presenting the Tailors and Dyers Hall, a shop in the St. Olms canton in Vivec, by Nirvana201.
Nirvana comments:
> Morrowind's interiors are very simple and Vivec City's Tailors and Dyers Hall in St. Olms is a great example of this. In Morrowind's design, the shop doesn’t feature much detail, so I really wanted to see how it would feel to change that and make it something better and more practical for Skywind. This logic applies to every interior design I personally make.

Sword of Secrets: 3D model of the Ebony Blade, by Mykola Pavlovets
This Daedric artifact has proved itself difficult to hold on to, with rumors of a benevolent mage cursing it to be quickly lost, in order to save the soul and sanity of the owner. Legend has it that the Ebony Blade was first stolen from Mephala herself. Will you keep hold of it?

Eye of the Spider, it’s the thrill of the bite: Ebony Blade concept, by Adam Mortimer
This particular artifact from the Daedric Prince of Secrets wasn’t present in Morrowind, but appeared in titles prior and since, but we’ve found a good place for it. Lucky players who discover it are advised to not to worry about any whispers in their heads -- it’s probably just the wind.
Check out more details on Adam’s ArtStation: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/r96wxJ
Description: Multiple views of an ebony katana. The handle is long enough for two hands, but the blade is relatively short. The handle is black leather and gilt, and a there is a golden spider design on the tsuba-style handguard. The back of the blade bears a web pattern.
