No idea what the story is with this band, but was listening to it this morning and thought I’d share. Hopefully this one’s better some of you to also share.

Reformation / Backyard Roller Coastrt
Combo of post-rock and post-metal. Fairly upbeat. Found the previous album on R a couple of years ago and figured I’d share this - literally came out yesterday.

I first came across this band thanks to an animated video Fursy Teyssier (Les Discrets, Amesoeurs) made for one of their songs. I've loved them ever since.

The Seven Mile Journey - Passenger's Log, the Unity Fractions (2006)
A good friend put me onto the album this track is from last year, and I love it.
-
MONO & world's end girlfriend - Palmless Prayer / Mass Murder Refrain (2005)
I love how subdued and gentle this album is. It's something to put on and enjoy with your eyes closed.

New upbeat tappy album - Erin Malone (FFA Pictures of Wild Life)
Cross-posting this here because this is definitely “post-rock with more tapping”
cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/11561392
> I think I found this album due to The Post-Everything Collective monthly round up. Some nice happy(and tappy) instrumental math-rock to start 2024 with.

Explosions In The Sky: “I feel like we should put on one or more concerts sharing the bill with Mogwai”

Alarmist -
No idea where I found this gem, though with my luck it was either here or the R site.
Alarmist, Popular Demain. Part Math, part Post. Electronics and near-Gloss-Drop Battles with some jazz.

saw Pelican live this week(US)
They had a great time, we had a great time. Three opening acts, not my speed (too much screaming), but appeared decent. Pelican played a couple of new songs, and while I’m not a huge Pelican head, it seems like they went through the back catalog a good bit and the show was well received.
Go see them!

Pijn - Loss (2018)
I'm currently listening to this, sat letting it wash over me as I read a book. I love the ebb and flow of this album.
