Continuing Amoledwatchfaces topic. They update their watchfaces to the new format tuned for wearos 4. This sounds good, but there is one "but". Here I simply quote their mail.

"We would also like to inform about one error that is currently occurring. When using the S Health Steps complication with a progress bar, the watch face crashes when the steps goal is reached, as S Health currently contains a bug. Samsung is aware of this bug and has promised to fix it as soon as possible. We currently recommend using the S Health Steps complication only in slots where the progress bar is not displayed, or using the Steps complication from the Health Services Complications app"

A very nice digital watchface "InfoBlock: Wear OS Watch face" from amoledwatchfaces is free for few days.

My new routine (and the first one which involves the my watch): when I come to the gym, my watchface is changed from whatever it was to a digital one with shortcuts to GymRun and breath exercise.

Tested on Friday - works fine.

Do you think official release of WhatsApp for WearOS will be done following its own schedule or will be aligned to GW6 or, probably, to pixel watch announcement?

Samsung Unpacked is scheduled to July 26. Galaxy Watch 6 and few nice companion gadgets for it, like Galaxy Z Fold 5 😉, will be announced.

Previous years people (especially in the US) manged to get a good deal make pre-order reservation + trade-in. If you want to do this this time - better be prepared upfront.

Just read in news that Samsung started rolling out beta 3 of OneUI 5 for GW4 and GW 5. This remind me that final release date of OneUI 5 for everyone is not that far away. And soon I finally will be able to start two timers at the same time! :)

You can take a screenshot on a Galaxy Watch just pressing both buttons at the same time. The screenshot will be automatically sent to your phone.

What I cannot find, however, if/how one can take a scrolling screenshot, like one can do on a phone. Is this possible?

I do not know why one could need to know model codes of GW6 upfront, but if you do here they are:

• Galaxy Watch 6 (40mm) – SM-R930

On the screenshot is list of faces installed on my watch (in the wearable app there is a bit more). However, I have admit I do not rotate all of them :)

What WF do you use?

All watches have this issue. I can imagine that new setting will ignore HR sensor for "on a wrist" detection. This is definitely a huge improvement for some people.

But still, there are many features which rely on HR readings.

So, get rid of tattoos is way better solution 😄

Just tried wikiloc for hiking on my gw4. Good things:

• map works
• some extra data like elevation, remain elevation etc is show

Bad things: Everything else: No turn by turn navigation instructions, neither on the watch no on the app. No elevation profile on phone app, no automatic route adjustment, no route planer, no.. basically no nothing. All this is more about phone app than the watch app, but still.

Looking forward when komoot improved its watch app. My hiking vacation is not far away.

GW 5 Pro has few exclusive features like guided navigation for hiking in SHealth. It looks like that GW6 will not have a "Pro" option, just regular classic.

I wonder what will happen with these Pro features. The simplest option would be make them available for everyone, the features are purely software and worst what can happen - non-Pro watches will drain the battery too fast.

Official press renders leaked. The most interesting thing they show is (some of) new watch faces.

I kind of like the "classic" one, but still not sure. Do you find any attractive?

Current UV index is nice, but max UV index expected for today is important too. The only place which has this info is a tile (and only tile!) If Google weather. In app itself there is no max UV.

I have used komoot for hiking for years now. And it is still, my go-to app to plan and follow trails. It is good and does not require a subscription for offline navigation (it is enough to purchase a map for a region). Unfortunately, komoot app for wearos is mostly useless. Their Garmin app is way better and demonstrates that komoot know how the watch app should look. And this stay so since gw4 was released.

Now, wikiloc released wearos app as well. It does not show all the info I would like to have on my wrist, but it shows a map - and this is a huge difference! I really thinking to give it a try now...

Fossil Gen 6 gets GA. This means stronger competition between wearos watches. And this means that samsung cannot relax with its current success :)

GW 6 44 will have 425 mAh battery, my GW4 44 has 361 mAh battery. This is an 18% increase. But the screen is a bit bigger (which is bad for battery life) and the CPU is newer (which could be good for battery life).

On top of that:

• new wearos version - assumed to be optimized, but more feature reach.
• new watchface format which should be more battery efficient - not sure if relevant for stock faces at all, but for 3pp faces - should be good

Sum up everything and.. the same 1-2 days on a charge. At least according to current leaks.

It looks like design of GW6 will be same as GW5/4 and design of GW6 will be same as GW4 Classic. I saw some people complain about this. But I find this good:

1. This keeps the brand, samsung already done too many chaotic moves in Galaxy Watch line in design and even naming.
2. (hopefully) old band will work.

If these renders are correct (the right part of the picture, classic always had bezel hidden by a physical bezel :)), the GW6 will have much smaller bezel than GW5! What do you think?

Google weather supports local weather service alerts. Samsung weather does not. Google weather can show you max UV index for the day, Samsung weather cannot. On ther other hand Samsung weather has its advantages as well. No idea how to settle with a single weather app ☹️

Good news is that Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification will be added to GW4+ soon (together with OneUI5).

Bad news is: even if you have a samsung phone you, probably, will not be able to use this feature - only 13 countries will get it first.
