Just bumped the server up to 4 vCPU and 8GB memory. I also enabled captcha as we might see an influx of activity now that the API has gotten shut down on Reddit. I hope to update our kbin version soon as well!

I will also be looking into the frequency of posting for the automated magazines. I have heard from a couple people that it should be toned down some.

Hi everyone,

I was wanting to ask you guys what you thought about a “content bot”. My thought was to take some rss feeds from various news sources and have the bot automatically post to @news on here.

I have read a couple opinions on other threads about introducing content bots. Some people seem for it, some seem against it. I obviously don’t want to spam news articles on my instance, I want to be courteous to the other instances I’m federated with. Also, if it posts too much content too quickly then none of it will get engaged with. (I’m sure you all have seen the subreddits that are populated with bot content, most threads only having like less than 5 comments because it’s too many posts to bother with)

Anyways, let me know what you think or if you have any other suggestions in this realm. In the meantime, I’ve manually been reading, sorting, and posting articles to our @news to help with the content flow on the fediverse.
