This one starting out with me trying to get some retro/chiptune sounds out of the MicroMonsta 2. Then i though "hey, i bet some crunchy 8-bit drums would work great on the EP133.. then one thing led to another.. and suddenly there was a Jam :D
Micromonsta 2: Lead and performed bass. Bitimbral set to split, so i can play both parts on the Exquis. (On the last part i set it to stack and play both presets combined)
EP133 Drums, Sequenced Basslines + chip style arp in B section.

Evening Jam 12 - First recorded jam with EP133. Featuring: Volca FM2 + Roland S1 (sampled) - YouTube

This is my first recorded Jam with the EP133. I have really mixed feelings about the EP133. On one hand its really fun to play around with, and make cool beats, but at the same time i find the Live performance experience to be, tricky at best. It requires way to many simultaneous button presses to perform things, and there are not enough options for scene transitions. (I want an option to change on pattern end, not just bar/tick)
As such this is not an optimal Jam, as i probably would have needed more time to rehearse, and in the end i also ended up cutting out a part in the middle of the video because awkward transitions and overall performance was not interesting to listen to.
I'm not quite ready to give up on the EP133, but I think i would need some really substantial software updates to be properly useful for me, and not just something fun to goof around with.... The frustrations in live play just makes me want to put it away and pull out the Circuit Tracks. :/

This was a really fun setup. I just recently got the Intuitive Instruments Exquis and this is my first real Jam with it. The expressiveness of the Exquis combined with the nice flow working with the Circuit tracks made this setup very fun to work with.

This time its a more minimalist jam.
I recently got the Roland S-1 and T8, so decided to try to make something simple while learning how to use them.

Midi keyboard for Roland s-1
Hi everyone! I'm a complete noob and as such, I started noodling with a Roland t-8 and S-1 which I both quite like, except that I just can't play with the keys of the s-1 (size and velocity-wise). Could you recommand a Midi-keyboard that would :
- be cheap (used)
- have an arpeggiator (with multiple patterns would be great as I find it a cool source of inspiration)
- be compact
Also, do you now if I will still be able to use the sequencer of the S-1? Thanks a lot for your help

Electribe2 still better than I want to admit
I recently centered my hardware around the Electribe2 (hacktribe) as a central sequencing device. This beacme even more a thing since hacktribe implemented MIDI soft trough. Whats especially nice about this is the internal exporting wave function of it. Any synth connected and and sequenced via midi and of course audio via mixer in gets recorded to SD to have seperate stems. Sure thats nothing special when compared to an MPC one or Smpltrek but it seems to be something compared to a digitakt.
Downside seems to be that it only records the incoming audio with the same gate notes have despite the envelope settings on the synth. So if ou trigger long notes with short notes they will get cut. I think setting the deacy to max on the e2 changes this but its still faded out or a little different from what you played.
Maybe someone has more experience with the export function collecting erxternal synths. Originally I recorded the complete 4 bars of the external synth into one sample and let that play but its quite a bit of extra work per track and export is automatic sequential export.

Using pedals in mixing before recording
I run my gear (Polyend Tracker, Korg Prologue and now the Syntakt) into my Soundcraft-12 mixer and then into a Scarlett 2i2 to my laptop. Does anyone use the FX send/return on their mixer for 'master' effects' and if so, what do you use? I've been playing with a JHS Colour Box in that way but was curious to see what others do.

General question about a DAWless setup.
Hey everyone, I've been using hardware synths to write music for a little while and I've heard of dawless setups around and I sort of get the gist of it. My question here is how do you/do you record songs to be able to post in some other way or is using a daw as just a recording step not mutually exclusive with a dawless setup?
I guess to sum up, does dawless only really refer to what is controlling everything or is it truly never using a daw?
