- itsgoingdown.org In Memory of the Unyielding Anarchist Rebel, Librado Rivera
A short history in commemoration of the life and times of Mexican anarchist, Librado Rivera, 91 years since his death. Communism must be free like love; that is to say, it must be anarchist, or not exist at all - Librado Rivera Ninety-one years ago, today, March 1, 1932, Mexican anarchist Librado Ri...
>Furthermore, Rivera filled the pages of Sagitario with scathing critiques of the post-revolutionary governments of Mexico, which would again land him in prison. On April 1, 1927, Rivera was arrested for authoring two articles published in Sagitario, denouncing the war of extermination being carried out against the Yaqui tribe in Sonora, and calling President Calles an assassin. For this, Librado Rivera spent seven months in the infamous Andonegui prison in Tampico. > >Rivera’s imprisonment didn’t silence him. He continued writing, denouncing the repression against him, and doubling down on his criticism of the post-revolutionary Mexican governments. He turned to other anarchist newspapers, including Cultura Proletaria in New York and La Antorcha in Buenos Aires, to get his word out. In a letter written from prison and published in La Antorcha on October 16, 1927, Rivera wrote: > >>The Calles-Obregón government that appears discursively to be resisting Yankee capitalism, is in practice a true lackey, who even lends itself to modify and impose the laws that those millionaires crave, as do the politicians and millionaires of Mexico.

An Urgent Call for Solidarity & Needed Funds to Battle Escalating Repression in Greece: An Interview with Tameio
itsgoingdown.org An Urgent Call for Solidarity and Needed Funds to Battle Escalating Repression in Greece: An Interview With Tameio"We support those engaged in subversive action, within the spectrum of a multi-faceted anti-state and anti-capitalist revolutionary movement."
>The appeal trial of comrades Vangelis Stathopoulos and Dimitris Chatzivasileiadis is currently ongoing for the case of the robbery of a betting office and alleged association to the Organization: “Revolutionary Self-Defense”. During their initial trial they were sentenced to 19 (Vangelis) and 16 years (Dimitris) in prison. All started in October 2019, after a robbery in a betting office, where one of the two participants was injured. In November 2019, armament was allegedly found and attributed, according to the police, to the Organization “Revolutionary Self-Defense”. Then, Vangelis Stathopoulos and another person were arrested by “anti-terror” police and remanded into custody. Vangelis Stathopoulos denied any involvement in the organization “Revolutionary Self-Defense”, but had admitted to helping the injured anarchist Dimitris Chatzivasileiadis with a medical emergency. > >Without any involvement in the original robbery of the betting shop, the prosecution chose to punish comrade Vangelis, because he showed his solidarity in practice when helping the wounded anarchist Dimitris Chatzivasileiadis. Thus, he was taken to the prison in Larissa, where he is kept until today. Meanwhile, Dimitris Chatzivasileiadis went underground and participated in the public political debate, defending the revolutionary action. On August 9, 2021, unfortunately he was arrested after an armed bank robbery in Thessaloniki and today he is being held in prison in Domokos.

Suspect in the murder of Portland anarchist arrested after case went ignored for a year
itsgoingdown.org Year After He was Identified by Antifascists, Suspect in the Murder of Portland Anarchist ArrestedPortland police announced on Thursday that they arrested 47-year-old Christopher Knipe on second-degree murder charges, for the 2019 murder of a 23-year old anarchist, Sean "Armenio" Kealiher. Kealiher, a well known anarchist and antifascist in the Portland area, was murdered in a hit and run a few ...
>Many have accused the Portland police of refusing to arrest Sean’s killers due to his politics as an anarchist and the documented bias of local law enforcement. Portland police have coordinated directly with far-Right groups while targeting antifascists at street protests and for years, police have allowed far-Right groups like the Proud Boys to engage in violence against the broader community and counter-protesters with impunity.

No Freedom! Parole Update from Anarchist Prisoner Michael Kimble
itsgoingdown.org No Freedom! Parole Update from Anarchist Prisoner Michael KimbleStatement from anarchist prisoner Michael Kimble to his supporters about his recent rejection for parole. For more information on Kimble and how to support him, go here. From Michael Kimble: On December 16th, 2021 I was considered for parole during an open hearing. I was denied and hit with another ...
>I’m angry and bitter about the denial, but not really surprised about it. The Alabama Parole Board has been in the news lately about the refusal to grant parole to prisoners who have been incarcerated for 20 to 30 years or more and the racial disparity in who gets parole and who doesn’t. Last fiscal year, 23 percent of white prisoners were considered for parole, but only 9 percent of black prisoners. In fiscal year 2017, 54 percent of parole requests were granted. This was a high rate for Alabama. By the fiscal year that ended in June, the approval rate was just 15 percent. So far in fiscal year 2022, the rate is 10 percent. The current parole board is led by Leigh Gwaffney, a former prosecutor. Other members include a former probation officer and a state trooper. Victims of Crime and Leniency (VOCAL), an influential victims group, sends volunteers to testify against nearly every prisoner up for parole. A representative from the State Attorney General’s office does the same.

Conservatives are talking about organizing a Hong Kong solidarity march/protest, should we help?
https://www.reddit.com/r/Conservative/comments/cy3759/please_pray_for_our_brothers_and_sisters_in_hong/
I get that conservatives, especially in the US, are getting quite problematic and have some overlap with the far-right. They are still mostly workers, and thus deserve solidarity, especially when they support a cause that the anti-authoritarian left also supports. It seems they could use some help organizing.
I think the left really needs to start to increase discussions with people outside of their circle again, the isolation has been going on for far to long. Issues where there is overlap between the two wings, like the topic of Hong Kong, are the perfect chance for this. I think it would be a great chance to show that not all leftists support the authoritarian methods of China, as they seem to believe and not all "antifa types" think that everyone on the right of them are fascists who should be beaten in the streets and of course, show solidarity to Hong Kong.
Sure, they might not want to work with anyone on the left, but maybe it's worth a try? Anyone in the US/Georgia want to support them? Thoughts? Am I being to naive? In my opinion, actions like this are happening way to seldomly:

When MLs say theirs is the only valid ideology as it held onto state power is an appeal to hegemony
The argument that Marxist-Leninism and Marxist-Leninist-Maoism are the only valid ideologies because they are the only ones that held on to state power is essentially an appeal to past and present hegemony. This is eerily similar to an appeal to Capitalist Realism—that there is no alternative.
Just as we must push back against neoliberal capitalist ideology that incessantly tells us “there is no alternative,” we must be sceptical of ideologies that suggest theirs is the only way.
